The men’s 100m heats at the Rio 2016 Olympics had many surprises, as new and expected athletes did better than the veterans who were expected to make the semi finals. Nonetheless Jamaican Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake and Nickel Ashmeade all made it through to their semis.
Ashmeade placed second in his heat, behind a Chinese runner. Blake narrowly took first place and Usain Bolt toyed with the field, looking comfortable with his win.
