Seaview Gardens: Summer 2016, Melting Popsicle by Denise N. Fyffe

I feel like a Popsicle that has been licked and discarded in the park at high noon. Icky!

My pillows are drinking my sweat and 2:00 a.m. feels more like 12:00 noon. It is just the first week in May and already the temperatures are unbearable. Two weeks ago, the temperatures in Seaview Gardens jumped up a few notches. The nights were no longer mildly cool; they are now quite toasty. Sheets are no longer an options.

How am I going to manage this Summer 2016?

I know the people in the Middle East have more to complain about, but this island girl is burning up, like forgotten plantains on the stove.

I pray we get some relief soon.
