Jamaican Poetry: Be Careful

Careful how you walk the path,
Careful how you do the dance,
Careful how you turn your back,
Careful of the friendlies attack.

Careful how you sing the song,
Careful who you carry along,
Careful of the subtle trance,
Careful of spies in your camp.

Careful of the life you live
Carefully examine, weed and sieve;
Careful to observe the serfs,
Be careful of the lurer’s lure.
