Polish International goalkeeper Szczesny retire from professional football 

Poland’s and former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has announced his retirement from professional football.

 

The 34-year-old Polish goalkeeper announced the news on Instagram. Szczesny turned professional at Arsenal in 2009 , where he also spent three years in the youth team.

He played 181 games for The Gunners and was loaned out to Brentford (28 games) and AS Roma (81 games) in between.

In 2017 , Szczesny moved to Juventus , where the Pole played no fewer than 252 games . With Juve, he became Italian champions three times.

Szczesny played 84 international matches and represented his country at two World Cups (in 2018 and 2022) and three European Championships (in 2012, 2016 and 2021).
