The bible says that “death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits”. Therefore, as guardians of our bloodline, we must take the reins and strategically place the power, authority, presence and dictates of God, over the lives of our children; even to the 12th … Continue reading Book Feature on Declarations for My Sons and Daughters by Denise N. Book Excerpt from Empowering the 21st Century Worker by Denise N. Fyffe
An employer’s obligation to their workers does not start and stop at providing them with employment. More is required for them to contribute consistently and positively to the company; also for them to increase that level of productivity for their entire tenure at the organization. Business owners might think that if they employ certain empowerment practices, like encouraging open communication, setting up a system of rewards, defining roles clearly, or insisting on accountability; that these strategies alone will ensure employee empowerment. No, they will not.
Empowering the 21st Century Worker exposes the research, analysis, implications and findings of on the job training for one learning organisation. It takes a close look at the processes and infrastructure in place for employee training and whether positive organisational change is the result.

Book Excerpt from Is the Registry Happy by Denise N. Fyffe
The department that handles the brunt of the administrative function at a university if oft referred to as a Registry. The person in charge of said department is called a Registrar. There are a myriad of functions, which originate in this administrative hub. For the life of the student at any institution, a large amount of time will be spent interacting with the officers in this department. Without the effective functioning of this department, the university will be considered incompetent and student customers will be frustrated or unhappy while they study at the institution.
The idea for this analysis in, Is the Registry Happy by Denise N. Fyffe, was born out of the direct contact with the Registry staff of a learning organisation. .
On the job training
Whether workers have been in the job market for many years or just a day, employers must anticipate training new employees in the company. This can be in specific job functions or organizational practices and culture, which is the accustomed behavioural customs, principles and expectations of their workplace. Oftentimes it is also required that they frequently offer guidance in job-specific technical skills as well. As the job function evolves, so too must the skills of the employee to perform that job effectively.
Worker’s skills are the key component in the success of an organization or business; therefore, it is paramount that they have the best employees possible. Organizations exploit all of their workforce expertise to…

Book Excerpt from The Expert Teacher’s Guide on How to Motivate Students by Denise N. Fyffe
Teaching is one of the oldest professions in the world and many aspire to this profession; as is the case in any other career, many of us aim to be the best and most proficient. Many of us strive to improve on what existed before. This is a natural intrinsic desire as we are creatures that like to compete; but being the best is not an entitlement.

The Expert Teacher
Some teach for teaching sake, and this is one of the reasons that the noble profession of teaching is being stigmatized by unconstructive connotations. It is not impossible to erode the failures of the past and lay a new legacy in teaching; it is certainly possible if as individuals we take on the responsibility of upgrading our skills, learning new strategies and working diligently to motivate all learners to participate fully in the learning process.

Book Feature on The Island Journal by Denise N. Fyffe
Jamaicans consider themselves spiritually blessed as they have the most churches per square mile. Jamaica also has the most talented people in music, arts and athletics and are creative, have a love for life, blessed with a beautiful and luscious island paradise. There are high pristine Blue Mountains, the un-spoilt Cockpit Country, good vibes and jamming music floating everywhere you go.
The everyday man misses the unique gifts which are upon him daily. Where else does almost every home have a fruit tree in the backyard; usually there are several of them. Jamaica has tens of thousands of towering mango trees, ackee trees, breadfruit, or our national flower lignum vitae trees. The countryside is lined with succulent cherry, plums, apple and so many delicious morsels from God’s garden.
All around you will see children playing and laughing, up to some Anancy mischief; but they are happy. Hunger is mostly kept at bay because there are trees bearing food everywhere and most neighbours are willing to allow you to pick from their trees. Mango, banana, ackee, pear, sweet sop, soursop, apple, papaya, june plum, hog plum, orange, grapefruit, cherry and much more.
Jamaica is a paradise indeed.

“This book is a compilation of poems that I wrote while going through depression. I hope it gives you some understanding of the depressed mind. Some take life for granted and they shouldn’t. Right now, the suicide levels are increasing and the bereaved are left wondering what happened. Grief is often times unbearable and depression is often a result of this.-Poetess Denise Fyffe”

Jamaican Stories about Depression by Denise N. Fyffe
Depression is more common than many of us are aware; though, it is hidden away, like some deep dark secret. It is a natural response to trauma. For some, the emotions overwhelm them and they commit suicide. Depression does not discriminate, stereotype or exercises any prejudice; neither is it unique to any one situation.

Clinical Depression
Getting help for clinical depression is vital. It affects about 16% of persons living in the United States. In Australia, one in four women and one in eight men will suffer from depression. About twice as many females as males report or receive treatment for clinical depression, though this imbalance is shrinking over the course of recent history; this difference seems to disappear after the age of 50–55.
According to the World Health Organization, clinical depression is the leading cause of disability in many countries, and is expected to become the second leading…

First advice, you don’t have to pay to self publish your book. You do have to pay to ship copies to your self, at a reduced cost. The best self publishing companies will give you this option.
This is quite accessible at my first self publishing website, Lulu.com. Unlike Amazon, Lulu allows you to order proof copies before the book is approved for distribution to other third-party bookstores and catalogs. The distribution option is a prime example of the good service that the best self…
