It is gold for Jamaica.

Jamaica has dominated the women’s 100 metres London 2012 Olympic finals, again. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce 10.75 was on a mission for gold at the XXX Olympiad and Veronica Campbell-Brown 10.81 claimed the bronze.

London was alive with jubilation long before the 100 metres women’s final. The Britains claimed gold in the heptathlon (Jessica Ennis), 10,000 metres (Mo Farah) and long jump. Ennis outperformed the other female competitors and set a new British record. Then Farah set the track ablaze when he outran the top Ethiopians in the 10,000 metres finals.

The night was then sealed with the Jamaican black, green and gold colours flashing across the line for gold and bronze place. Carmelita Jeter 10.78 separated the Jamaican duo of Campbell-Brown and Fraser-Pryce.

Allyson Felix 10.89 who placed fifth, did not medal but she ran a personal best and is expected to perform even beter in the 200 meter races. Carmelita, Veronica and Shelly Ann will also join her in the 200m rounds; so too will Trinidad and Tobago’s Kelly-Ann Baptiste 10.94, who finished sixth.
