It was with bated breath, two sets a pot cover, clappers and a lung full of air that 3 million Jamaicans at home, waited to hear who won NBC The Voice on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 10:55 p.m. As Tessanne Chin‘s name was announce the 1000 legion of supporters who gathered in Half Way Tree, Kingston celebrated like it was the London Olympics all over again and Usain Bolt won gold.

For those at home, clappers could be heard like it was New Years Eve and likkle picknie running up and down like dem just let out a school. Jamaica irie tonight.

Tessanne Chin is the NBC The Voice Season 5 winner. Tessanne Chin is the second winner for team Adam Levine and Tessanne made a whole country supremely proud.

The night will certainly live on in Tessanne’s memory as she performed with the great Celine Dion. The top 20 contestants all revelled in performances that will be much talked about for days to come. The sky is the limit for Tessanne Chin. She will now have the global platform she deserves to express her grace and humility; to showcase her immense talent, and to make Jamaica and Jamaicans, home and abroad very proud.
