Rio 2016 Olympics was filled with both good and bad dramatic moments this evening. Jamaica had one mishap, as Leah Nugent, second in her heat, was disqualified and will not move forward to the semi finals of the women’s 400m hurdles.
However, most of the talk was about the third fastest woman in the event this year, Janieve Russell, and how unfit or not up to par she looked. Even with a second place finish, commentators dissected the Jamaican and questioned the wisdom of her running the event.
Ristananna Tracey performed well and finished first in her heat.
