It was a cracking third and fourth leg by Allen and Francis of Jamaica, at the Rio 2016 Olympics in the 4x400m Men’s Relay Round 1. Allen took Jamaica from fourth place to hand over behind America. Javon Francis, ‘donkey man’, ran a killer 50m to overtake the American runner, for first place. Jamaica is safely through to the 4x400m Men’s Relay Final. The commentators have hailed Javon Francis as running many legendary anchor legs for Jamaica.
In the second heat, Bahamas led for most of the race, but the stadium was booming for the Brazil runners to make the finals. They narrowly missed out. Minutes after the race it was announced that Trinidad and Tobago and Great Britain, who won the heat, were disqualified.
