Credit must be given to Christine Day of Jamaica, for her leg, at the Rio 2016 Olympics, of the 4x400m Women’s Relay Round 1.
She gave great effort to put the others in good stead, as the baton made its way around the field, the gap also grew. In the end, Novlene Williams Mills had a good 20 meter lead on the other runners and secured first place comfortably.
There were no mishaps and all batons remained in the runner’s hands. The USA won the first heat with 3:21:42s and Jamaica won the second heat of the 4x400m Women’s Relay Round 1, 3:22:38s.
