Germination is the process by which a plant grows from a seed. The most common example of germination is the sprouting of a seedling from a seed of an angiosperm or gymnosperm.
In addition, the growth of a sporeling from a spore, such as the spores of hyphae from fungal spores, is also germination (Wikipedia).

Nice, I find that in Chicago my tomatoes have had no trouble getting big and strong as seedlings. However, peppers are a bit slower and more finicky. Good luck!

:?( Sad to say my tomatoes are the problem ones these days. I have reaped twice from my peppers; but only one single tomato. The blossoms keep falling of or drying up.
