Answering The Call to Write
by: Denise N. Fyffe
There comes a moment in every writer’s life when the desire to create becomes louder than the excuses that have kept them silent. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been carrying the idea, how many times you’ve promised yourself you would start, or how many notebooks you’ve filled with scattered thoughts.
There is a point when the longing to write becomes a kind of spiritual pressure — a gentle but persistent nudge reminding you that your voice has work to do. That moment is often quiet, almost unremarkable to anyone else, but inside you it feels like a shift.
A turning.
A decision waiting to be made.
And if you’re reading this, you’re already closer to that decision than you realize.
Writing is not simply an act of creativity; it is an act of courage. It requires you to confront your own thoughts, your own patterns, your own resistance. It asks you to sit with yourself long enough to hear what you truly want to say. And for many people, that is the hardest part.
Not the grammar.
Not the structure.
Not the publishing process.
The hardest part is showing up to the page with honesty and consistency, especially when life is loud, responsibilities are heavy, and distractions are endless.
