Exploit the Passion and Compulsion to Write

The discipline of writing is effectively fueled by a passion for writing. There must be something entrenched deep in your psyche, an intrinsic motivation driving you to write books, articles, stories, or any other kind of material. No matter the activities that fill your day, you always find time to write.

Sure, you may miss a day or two, but this should be an oddity and not normality.

Passion is the internal fire that keeps you returning to the page. It is the quiet insistence that writing is not just something you do, but something you are compelled to do. When passion is present, writing becomes less of a task and more of a natural extension of your identity. It becomes the force that helps you push through fatigue, distractions, and the demands of everyday life.

At the height of my writing career, and as an author, I was managing three blogs and always drafting manuscripts, writing articles, editing, or proofreading. Today, I manage six blogs, and still draft manuscripts, publish books and occasionally do publishing gigs. I do all that along with working eight hours a day and attending school four evenings each week for three hours. Not to mention, the added ‘hecticity’ of completing my teaching practice four mornings every week from 7 a.m. and one session on Sunday evenings for three hours. I am so glad that it is over; it was brutal.

Nonetheless, I was able to accomplish this because of my passion and compulsion for writing. It requires being organized, proactive, and focused.
