After the exhilarating performances at the Jamaica National Trials 2012, the question on everyone’s lips is, “Who will represent Jamaica at the London 2012 Olympics? And what events will Jamaican athletes be participating in?”

Jamaica has a long history of participating in the Olympics mainly, in the track events. This year at the London 2012 Olympics they will add a few other events to their schedule. In July, Jamaican Athletes can be seen in:

  1. Athletics (Track)
  2. Athletics (Field)
  3. Swimming
  4. Equestrian
  5. Taekwondo

In Athletics (Track), there are a number of events and the Jamaican Athletes making the qualifying times are shown below:

  1. 100m men – Yohan Blake, Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, Michael Frater
  2. 100m women – Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, Veronica Campbell, Kerron Stewart,
  3. 200m men – Yohan Blake, Usain Bolt, Warren Weir
  4. 200m women – Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, Veronica Campbell, Sherone Simpson,
  5. 110 hurdles men – Hansle Parchment, Andrew Riley, Richard Phillips
  6. 110 hurdles women – Brigitte Foster-Hylton, Latoya Greaves, ShermaineWilliams, Vonette Dixon
  7. 400m men – Dane Hyatt, Rusheen McDonald, Jermaine Gonzales
  8. 400m women – Novlene Williams-Mills, Rosmarie Whyte, Christina Day
  9. 400m hurdles men – Leford Green, Josef Robertson, Roxroy Cato
  10. 400m hurdles women– Melanie Walker, Kaliese Spencer, Nickeisha Wilson
  11. Sherone SIMPSON
