In our previous articles on the topic How technology, smartphones and electronics puts us in danger, we have reviewed the impact of technology on daily and then listed some of the negative effects. now take a look at some of the positive effects.

List of positive effects of technology and smartphone use:

  1. being able to send and receive text messages
  2. being able to use GPS to track your children
  3. easier access to anyone, anywhere in the world at anytime
  4. smartphones help students with quick research
  5. provide a vital communication link to their parents
  6. better able to share and document special occasions using camera phones, videos, tablets etc
  7. cell phones facilitate connection during an emergency
  8. smartphones provide easy access to information especially via the internet on apps such as BBM and Whatsapp
  9. friends and family have easy access to us and vice versa; especially on social media sites
  10. being able to make a call to get help if you’re lost, your car breaks down, you get into an accident or any kind of trouble
  11. smartphones or camera-phones can take pictures instantly, which can be sent out to friends, family, followers and fans
  12. cellphones can record videos, especially criminal activities, of anything and at anytime
  13. smartphones are equipped to provide the weather, temperature, date and time
  14. many people use the cell phone as an alarm clock
  15. there are variety of apps and games available, an app for almost everything
  16. more business growth especially for companies affiliated with technology and cellphones
  17. conduct online banking activities like checking balances and paying bills
  18. purchasing items from online stores
  19. mobile phones are used for playing music and video files
  20. smartphones with memo apps are used to take notes and draft documents easily
  21. smartphone handsets can function as personal organizers, with contact lists, electronic diaries and automatic reminders
  22. people can use the built-in calculator for simple maths
  23. transfer and receive files using Bluetooth, GPRS or other forms of technology
