Jamaica is a popular destination for many couples who want to get married. Many hotels cater to this kind of event that brings brides and grooms to seeking the ultimate experience. They assist with planning many of the intricate details involved in hosting the event. From accommodation, church, officer, food, flowers and honeymoon location; you name it, they got it covered. Planning a Jamaican wedding getaway? Do you want to know what to do? Well if so, continue reading this article.
You must contact the Ministry of National Security & Justice at least four weeks prior to having your Jamaican wedding. This allows you to arrange for a marriage license that will permit you to legally have your ceremony on the island. The cost may vary; for that reason you contact the Ministry anytime during the week at normal business hours at (876) 906-4923. Proper documentation will be needed to assist in getting your marriage certificate. Birth certificates, divorce papers, death certificates, all these are required if applicable, to prove that you are legally single and above the age of consent to marry.
The Jamaican hotel can provide you with marriage officers if you desire. These costs are usually included in your Jamaican wedding/honeymoon package. You can request a marriage officer of any denomination you want, or a non denominational one. Some couples get to the island a couple of days in advance to make sure that all the plans have been taken care of to their liking. However, you should make sure that you arrive no less than a day before you get married. This is a legal requirement and you will need this time to check off your lists.
Finally, you just need to stand before your marriage officer and get married. Tie the knot, and enjoy your Jamaican honeymoon. Make sure to plan many activities that will last you a lifetime and visit as frequently as you can to relive the memories. This is done by many couples. Some married for ten, twenty of even thirty years revisit the island to renew their vows. Some bring back their families and children to see the beautiful paradise in which they got married. If you forget everything, remember this. Contact a hotel, get a wedding coordinator and they will take care of and guide you with every detail.
