Jamaicans consider themselves spiritually blessed as they have the most churches per square mile. Jamaica also has the most talented people in music, arts and athletics and are creative, have a love for life, blessed with a beautiful and luscious island paradise. There are high pristine Blue Mountains, the un-spoilt Cockpit Country, good vibes and jamming music floating everywhere you go.
The everyday man misses the unique gifts which are upon him daily. Where else does almost every home have a fruit tree in the backyard; usually there are several of them. Jamaica has tens of thousands of towering mango trees, ackee trees, breadfruit, or our national flower lignum vitae trees. The countryside is lined with succulent cherry, plums, apple and so many delicious morsels from God’s garden.
All around you will see children playing and laughing, up to some Anancy mischief; but they are happy. Hunger is mostly kept at bay because there are trees bearing food everywhere and most neighbours are willing to allow you to pick from their trees. Mango, banana, ackee, pear, sweet sop, soursop, apple, papaya, june plum, hog plum, orange, grapefruit, cherry and much more.
Jamaica is a paradise indeed.
