Tokyo Summer Olympics 2021: Final Country Rank and Medal Count

The Summer Olympic Games 2021 is officially behind us. It was a stellar event despite challenges with Covid-19. We saw impactful victories, disappointing upsets, and hard work paid off for many of our Olympians. 93 countries are now official 2021 Olympic medal holders.

Jamaica came away with 9 medals; 4 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze. All from the 100m, 100m hurdles,  200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m.

Team USA finally clawed their way to the top country rank position and has the most medals, 113. China is in second place with 88 medals. Japan held on to the third rank with 58 medals, 27 of which are gold medals. Russia is in the fifth position but has the third most medals, 71.

Congratulations to the hundreds of athletes that competed; it was a job well done. We applaud your sacrifice and dedication.

What is Jamaica’s Medal Count?

Jamaica increased its medal count to 9 and is ranked 21st . Our Jamaican women have performed superbly overall;. Though there is a concern for the quality of Jamaican male sprinters that are left in the post Usain Bolt era.

We look forward to seeing what strategies will be implemented to continue Jamaica’s legacy, on the men’s side. We are proud of their collective achievements and offer them our support. It is not easy being an athlete nor becoming an Olympian.

Check out her book The Caribbean Family

The family is the genesis of all societies. Every culture has its distinct rules by which a family is governed, and the Caribbean family is no exception. Those rules differ within each group; for the Indians, Chinese, and Africans. Making up most of the population in the Caribbean, African families have spawned several sub-units or types; some of which are unique to the African culture. This book explores each family type and their history within the Caribbean.
